Biden: First Thing I'll Do as President is Raise Taxes :: Right & Free

Former vice president and current presidential wannabe, Joe Biden, has just had his own Joe the Plumber moment.

You remember Joe the Plumber. He had a run-in with then-candidate Barack Obama during the 2008 election. When Joe questioned Obama about his tax plan, Obama responded with the infamous answer: "I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

There's lots of talk of spreading the wealth around these days, all of it from Democrats, most of whom are avowed socialists (and some are even communists!). Joe Biden is desperate to be young and hip like Bernie, so he let loose with this gem: "...there is plenty, plenty of money to go around." Of course there is. And how will Biden get his wandering hands on that money? First, by eliminating the Trump tax cuts. And then, presumably, by raising taxes even more.

INTERVIEWER: “So we have a three-part question. One, what are you gonna say about this lie of scarcity? Two, how are we going to immediately and fully, not incrementally, eliminate poverty? And three, what can you say about your view on military spending and the militarization and the problem of warmongering that’s happening in this country and world?”

BIDEN: “Number one — (Applause) — number one ,we have the greatest income inequity in the history of the United States of America since 1902. And the fact of the matter is there is plenty, plenty of money to go around. The first thing I would do as president is eliminate the President’s tax cut.”
